Who Is Jae Bae?
I’m Jae Bae—a plus-size, bisexual, polyamorous content creator, advocate, and entrepreneur. My journey began in resilience, shaped by a childhood marked by systemic neglect, generational trauma, and survival. But survival wasn’t enough—I was determined to thrive, and more importantly, to help others do the same.
As a first-generation high school and college graduate, I’ve built a platform that blends advocacy, representation, and unapologetic authenticity. From breaking barriers in dating to fighting for equity in healthcare and travel, my work is rooted in a deep belief: everyone deserves a seat at the table, no matter their size, background, or story.
To revolutionize representation and advocacy for plus-size individuals by creating a world where inclusivity is the standard—not the exception. Through fearless storytelling and bold action, I envision a future where every marginalized voice is heard, every body is valued, and systemic barriers are dismantled for good.
I aim to empower individuals by challenging societal norms, amplifying underrepresented stories, and building a community rooted in acceptance and advocacy. My mission is to ignite change across industries—travel, healthcare, media, and beyond—while inspiring others to embrace their power, live authentically, and demand the equity they deserve.
Inclusion and Empowerment
I believe everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and respected, regardless of their size, identity, or background. My work and advocacy are built on the principle that true inclusivity means making space for all voices, particularly those that have been marginalized or silenced.
Authenticity and Transparency
I value honesty and vulnerability in every aspect of my life. Whether it's sharing my personal struggles or celebrating my successes, I am committed to being real with my audience. I believe that being authentic is the key to breaking down barriers and connecting with others on a deeper level.
Resilience and Strength
Having faced immense adversity, I understand the power of resilience. I believe in the strength of the human spirit and that no matter the challenges we face, we can rise above them. My journey is a testament to the power of persistence, and I aim to inspire others to tap into their own strength to overcome obstacles.
Equity and Justice
Fighting for fairness and equal treatment is at the core of everything I do. Whether it's advocating for plus-size representation or supporting survivors of trauma, I am driven by a commitment to justice. I want to live in a world where everyone is treated with dignity, regardless of their body size, background, or experiences.
Community and Connection
We are stronger together. I strive to create a sense of community where people can share, learn, and support each other. Connection is a powerful tool for change, and I believe that building supportive spaces helps us all grow, heal, and thrive.
I was born into circumstances that many would call impossible to overcome. As the oldest of five siblings, I grew up navigating generational trauma, neglect, and homelessness.By the age of 7, I was working to help support myself. I attended 14 different schools and moved between three states, constantly shifting to survive. Despite every obstacle, I graduated high school at 17, putting myself through college and earning my degree by 21 while working multiple jobs.
But my journey didn’t stop at personal survival. I created Jae Bae to build something bigger than myself—a platform that challenges the status quo, uplifts marginalized voices, and inspires others to see their value. It was during a time when I didn’t even know if I’d survive that I realized the impact I could have by sharing my story with the world. I’ve faced extreme anti-fatness, especially from my own family, who contributed to many of my insecurities. Despite that, I’ve never stopped fighting for the life and representation I deserve.
As a little girl, I dreamed of a world where plus-size people were treated equally—fat-inclusive planes, stores, and spaces. That dream stayed with me through the years, and now I’m on a mission to make it a reality. My story is about survival, strength, and the relentless pursuit of a world where no one feels like they don’t belong.
Every piece of content I create, every conversation I spark, and every barrier I break is driven by a singular goal: to create a world where no one feels the weight of invisibility. I believe in creating representation—not just for the sake of visibility, but because representation is transformative. Growing up, I faced systemic neglect and the crushing weight of societal stereotypes. These experiences shaped my purpose and fueled my passion for advocating for those who’ve been silenced, unseen, or overlooked.
I’m here to create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. My mission is to change the narrative for fat people, survivors, and anyone who’s been told they don’t belong. I’m not stopping until we get there. Everything I do is about shifting perceptions, breaking down barriers, and empowering others to embrace their worth unapologetically. I won’t rest until everyone has the opportunity to live fully, love themselves, and be heard.
I do this because I know what it feels like to be invisible, to be counted out before you even get started. I’ve lived through experiences that many people can’t even imagine—homelessness, neglect, abuse, and being constantly told I wasn’t worthy or capable. But I also know what it feels like to break free from that narrative and turn my pain into power.
What drives me is the desire to create a world where people like me—people who have been overlooked or dismissed—can see themselves in the stories that are told. Representation has always been a powerful force for change, and growing up without it made me realize how much it matters to see people who look like you, feel like you, and struggle like you in the media, in leadership positions, and in spaces that were never meant for us.
I want to ensure that the next generation doesn’t have to fight the same battles I did to feel seen or valued. I advocate for fat liberation, mental health awareness, and equality because I know how impactful these changes can be for someone who’s been made to feel like they don’t belong. My mission is to build a space where people can step into their power, embrace their identity, and live unapologetically.
This isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us. I’m here to challenge systems, shatter stereotypes, and make sure that no one else has to go through life feeling like they don’t matter. I’m doing this for the people who need to see that change is possible and for the communities who need someone to stand up and be unapologetically, loudly, themselves.
I champion plus-size individuals by advocating for more body-positive spaces and challenging harmful beauty standards. From encouraging self-love to pushing for better representation in media, dating, and fashion, I’m committed to showing that all bodies deserve respect, visibility, and celebration.
Cyberbullying and Online Harassment
As a public figure who has faced severe online harassment, I advocate for safer digital spaces. I'm raising awareness about the impact of cyberbullying and providing resources to empower others to navigate and overcome these challenges.
I raise awareness about eating disorders and promote body acceptance and self-compassion in recovery. My advocacy aims to create supportive communities where individuals can heal and embrace their bodies as they are.
I’m committed to helping others build confidence and see their worth beyond societal standards. Through personal stories and actionable advice, I inspire individuals to embrace their true selves and foster self-love.
As someone who has faced weight stigma in healthcare, I advocate for systemic changes, from proper equipment (like high-weight capacity MRI machines) to compassionate, bias-free treatment. Through my platform, I’ve educated audiences and encouraged healthcare providers to confront their biases and improve patient experiences.
Society often tells fat people they’re unworthy of love or desirability. I’ve used my platform to challenge these harmful narratives, sharing my experiences as a polyamorous, plus-size woman navigating the dating world. I’ve empowered my audience to embrace their worth, reject fetishization, and demand respect in relationships.
Having lived with PTSD, anxiety, and depression, I’m dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly for survivors of abuse. I foster open conversations about trauma, healing, and resilience, offering resources and support for anyone facing mental health struggles.
I advocate for mental health resources that support marginalized communities, recognizing the unique challenges they face due to race, gender, or socioeconomic status. I strive to provide resources and amplify voices that are too often overlooked in mental health discourse.
As a sexual assault survivor, I’m passionate about supporting others in their healing journeys. I work to raise awareness, promote resources for recovery, and fight for better legal protections and justice for survivors. Creating safe spaces to share stories of survival is a key focus of my advocacy.
As a bisexual woman, I advocate for LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion. I’m committed to creating safe spaces for queer people, supporting their rights, and ensuring they are recognized and respected in all aspects of life.
Having experienced homelessness, I speak out about housing insecurity and advocate for policies that support those struggling with homelessness. I work to amplify resources that help individuals and families achieve stability and long-term housing solutions.
Growing up with parents affected by addiction, I understand the far-reaching impact it has on families and communities. I raise awareness of addiction’s effects, advocate for better recovery resources, and support individuals overcoming substance abuse challenges.
I speak out about physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, particularly within families and relationships. I advocate for better systems to support survivors, empowering them to speak their truth and find the help they need.
Having overcome neglect, abuse, and systemic barriers, I’m passionate about empowering young people—especially those from challenging backgrounds—to believe in their potential. I share my story to inspire others to rise above adversity and create the future they deserve.
My content has resonated with audiences worldwide, reaching over 680 million views across platforms, sparking conversations and inspiring change.
Over the course of multiple years, I’ve grown my platform to over 330,000 followers, creating a space where people from all walks of life can feel seen, heard, and supported.
I’ve partnered with over 300 brands, including notable sponsors like Crayola, Walmart, McDonald's, Project Heal, Logitech, Poshmark, and Afterpay, to create inclusive, authentic campaigns that amplify diverse voices and champion representation.
My petition for plus-size travel equality garnered 40,000 signatures, gained global attention, and ignited meaningful conversations on accessibility, representation, and inclusivity.
I’ve been featured in prominent outlets like CNN, The Los Angeles Times, Buzzfeed, Thrillist, Travel + Leisure, and Bloomberg Businessweek, where I’ve shared my advocacy work and personal journey to inspire others.
My work has generated more than 3 billion earned media clicks, amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and pushing for change on a global scale.
