The Body Equality in Travel Campaign emerged from a pressing need for change in the travel industry and the personal experiences of its founder, Jae. As a plus-size traveler, Jae faced countless challenges, from uncomfortable seating to discriminatory comments, highlighting the industry's failure to accommodate and respect all passengers.

Determined to address these inequities, Jae launched the Body Equality in Travel Petition, advocating for comprehensive policies that prioritize the comfort, dignity, and accessibility of travelers of all sizes. The Body Equality in Travel Petition calls on airlines and the broader travel industry to implement inclusive policies that accommodate and respect travelers of all body sizes. The demands include:

• Reimbursement Policies: Travelers purchasing extra seats independently should have access to a straightforward reimbursement process.

• Enhanced Accommodations: Priority boarding, larger lavatories, seat belt extenders, and designated seating areas for customers-of-size where feasible.
